If you believe you are entitled to free health care, will you agree to support new laws preventing trial lawyers from filling up our courts with frivolous law suits and making every health care provider a target for lawsuits?

Why not be like every other nation in the world, who all use the English law system, where the loser pays the winner for damages? Only the USA has a system where anyone can file a law suit demanding excessive compensation & even if they lose the suit, the winning party absorbs excessive costs to defend themselves which in some cases is as much as the plaintiff is seeking in damages.

Was riding to work today on my bike (not motor on it) and i stopped at a corner where i thought i was totally visable,( i think i was) and this guy, i watched him NOT LOOK turned right into me, hard. The cops showed and they took me off in the 911-mobile. I am going to be ok, nothing honestly that wrong, besides very sore cut/banged and bruised up. I missed work needless too say also. We rent off of a couple. We have lived here for almost 4 yrs. We do not ask them to fix stuff much, but recently we have told them about our floor upstairs getting ready to fall in and our electrical in the house is going back. Well my husband was upstairs and fell thru the floor and hurt his leg. We told the landlords and they stated the house wasn’t worth fixing and wants us out in 90 days. We did not sign a contract but a friend of mine who is studying law stated paying rent each month is a verbal agreement of rental. What can we do. It is winter we have 2 kids and cant afford to move right now. What are our legal rights. We live in a small town and it is hard to find places decent. We have told the landlords we would fix the place and take it out of our rent each month, but they want hear that. They say they cant do that. No smartie answer. We need serious advise. Only answer if you are serious or can help in someway. We would appreciate it.

I was injured by a falling trash can off the top of a Chicago garbage truck July 2004. I retained an attorney July 2004 who sat on my case for a year without doing anything (but I did not know that). A year later in 2005, out of the blue I received a letter from a second attorney who said as you know I have taken over your case. I had no knowledge of this and asked him how did he get my name and information? He said it was given to him by the first attorney. I was astonished to know that I could be handed off without my knowledge.

To make a long story short the second attorney in July 2008 sent me alone and without preparation to a court ordered all day independent psychiatric interrogation exam hired by the City of Chicago. The entire ordeal felt like I was being gang raped. They humiliated me, taunted me, and made me cry. I did not do well and my attorney quit.

Because I have no knowledge of the law I feel I have been treated unjustly. I am a real person who all I wanted to do was to empty my trash can. I was hurt by the garbage truck, I was hurt by the lawyers, I was hurt by the city psyc docs, and now I am just at my wits end as to how to rectify this situation?

I have been told that I have a year to re-file, and this is why I need help as to how I should proceed? I am very stressed out, worried and just don’t know what to do? Can someone please help me? Please email me at pureholiness2@yahoo.com
